lotions and potions

hiya luvs!

my eldest niece, qamra, got me one of those beauty box subscription for my birthday. it was by a malaysian company called fabulousfinds.

i'm not much of a beauty product reviewer but i do enjoy testing them out and reading reviews by others. i dislike writing negative reviews of a product, so i shall focus on the product i like :)

the products i liked out of all the samples is the burt's bees - sensitive daily moisturising cream

i have oily skin. not just the t-zone, but every square inch of my face is oily. not only is it oily, but after turning 30 (now i'm 36) it has grown sensitive.

this moisturizer is heaven sent for me. the sample was so good, i went out and bought myself a full size bottle (it also helped that i was given a RM10 off voucher to sweeten the deal) !

the burt's bees sales girl at klcc explained that i could return the empty bottle back to the shop on the 31st of each month and receive a 10% discount on your next purchase. i thought that was a good enticement to buy their product again :)

a little goes a long way

calms the redness i had before and left skin matte

it mattifies my skin and also hydrates it all day. i used to find myself extremely shiny after an hour but using this, my face doesn't get so shiny that fast. it's also great under makeup. i use this before applying my concealer and powder foundation.

to praise you

I can't get that fatboy slim song* out of my head! it all started when i surprised my good friend ina with tickets to the fatboy slim concert last week. to be honest, it was my second fatboy slim concert here in malaysia. i still enjoyed it like it was my first! it was such a last minute decision that i manage to get hold of someone selling the ticket the day before and had the actual physical tickets on the night of the concert outside the venue! where there's a will, there's a way - hah!

i was pleasantly surprised that another girl friend, farah, also decided to join us and later through the concert, mila and dewa also made it. we were early, about 9pm and the line up consists of local DJs - LAPSAP (Litterall show), Phil K Lee and Nick Haydez. fatboy slim came out at 1am! tired me out but certainly enjoyed myself. i'm happy to report that i came home sober lol well, sober-er than my friend ;)

the next day i joined ina (again) with her family to have a pre-birthday celebratory dinner in a more wholesome environment. we had amazing middle eastern food. i got so stuffed with bread, hummus, briyani, chicken, lamb.. and the list goes on!

on the theme of birthdays and such, i received my birthday present from my eldest niece qamra. it was a subscription to malaysia's first ever beauty box - fabulousfinds. the product samples in their inaugural box are:

 i'm not much of a beauty reviewer but i'll give my two cents worth after i have tried the sample products for atleast about a week i suppose. fingers crossed!
