hari raya aidil fitri came and left. it was a time for family members to gather and eat! i was happy that most of my nieces and nephew managed to come celebrate. they all came decked out in their raya clothes, in all shape, shades and sizes.

I can't get that fatboy slim song* out of my head! it all started when i surprised my good friend ina with tickets to the fatboy slim concert last week. to be honest, it was my second fatboy slim concert here in malaysia. i still enjoyed it like it was my first! it was such a last minute decision that i manage to get hold of someone selling the ticket the day before and had the actual physical tickets on the night of the concert outside the venue! where there's a will, there's a way - hah!

i was pleasantly surprised that another girl friend, farah, also decided to join us and later through the concert, mila and dewa also made it. we were early, about 9pm and the line up consists of local DJs - LAPSAP (Litterall show), Phil K Lee and Nick Haydez. fatboy slim came out at 1am! tired me out but certainly enjoyed myself. i'm happy to report that i came home sober lol well, sober-er than my friend ;)

the next day i joined ina (again) with her family to have a pre-birthday celebratory dinner in a more wholesome environment. we had amazing middle eastern food. i got so stuffed with bread, hummus, briyani, chicken, lamb.. and the list goes on!

on the theme of birthdays and such, i received my birthday present from my eldest niece qamra. it was a subscription to malaysia's first ever beauty box - fabulousfinds. the product samples in their inaugural box are:

food that brings us together

heya luvs,

there's something about eating together that makes a special bond among friends. however it doesn't work with any old type of food. it's usually something decadent and sinful. the sharing of a pleasurable moment that creates a fond memory for us to share. i swear, sometimes i would forget an entire event, but would fondly remember the scrumptious dish served.

it all started with ina's birthday. her sister, lynette, and nieces were hard at work making three cute birthday cakes (triple birthday celebration for ina, ina's mum, lat, and ina's niece, diana) and some tarts that had my taste buds full attention that evening.





the birthday celebration carried on and i treated ina for a slimming ayurvedic massage. we decided to indulge a little bit with some cupcakes at my old work place wondermilk cafe since we were in the vicinity.





later that same day, we had another indulgent meal. for me it was a whole pizza! and ina had the chocolate cake that's to die for at ben's general food store.





on a spur of the moment one night, i decided to go for some froyo and dragged ina but unfortunately we were too late and the staff of tutti frutti wouldn't let us in (we clearly had 5 minutes left). feeling defeated, we tried to be optimistic by venturing the area. we actually found a haagen dazs that was open til late! you could have told us we won the grand lottery because that was how we felt! ecstatic! i tried the double scoop tiramisu and fell in love. it was so hard for me to take a picture. i was salivating through the lens.





it was recently that our friend munirah came to our neck of the woods. and it was through our fondness for mille crepe that we made a night out of it. it started with driving hurriedly to make it on time before the cafe; food foundry shuts. you can read it in detail here. and with a satisfied palate, we were in such a good mood that we unanimously decide on karaoke-ing until the the place closed.

seremban weddings

hiya luvs,

i love weddings. in fact, i've grown out of the 'crying' at my friends' wedding phase. now, i just come, enjoy the food, catch up with friends and take photos with them.

last sunday, my girls munirah and weween drove for about an hour and a half to seremban for our friend ikhwan's wedding. i knew ikhwan since our days living in london. i met him and his sister julie there and remain close ever since.
