the new territories

hiya luvs,

i'm in glorious hong kong but not the busy crowded streets of hong kong island or the many tiers of the midlevels, but in a small village called ha yeung in clear water bay, saikung. waking up to the blissful view of the sea in the front and rolling mountains covered with lush tropical greenery in the back. i'm here courtesy of my best friend akin, her hubby dave and my goddaughter, nika. part holiday and part work, its nice to be working with akin on our little children's furniture project. i've met up with the rest of the hk team, zoe, the enviromentalist, may, the china liaison and new on our team, eva, the intern.

i had a lovely weekend. i've been out to soho for dinner and drinks, a walk down to the beach, a seafood dinner at por toi o, a visit to akin's sister uyun. its not all play here. now i've gotta pay my dues, and face the mac and design damnit! design! i can hear the rusty gears of my brain crank moving...

well, tomorrow i'm off to central. meanwhile enjoy the pictures.

sa'adah

hiya luvs,

i thought i would do a quick post for mother's day. my mother's name is sa'adah. we have a good relationship. it wasn't so much when i was growing up and rebelling against everything she was all for. in time i can see things from her side, her perspective. i accept we are different, and we may not agree on things, but we do care about each other without boundaries.

to all mums reading this, happy mother's day. and to my mum, i love you.

good times

hiya luvs,

by the time you read this, i would be at my bestfriend's place in hongkong.

i went to the launch of vabene watches here in kl on wednesday night with my sis. having slept for only four hours the night before, i was if-fy if i would enjoy the party. en route to the event, it didn't feel like it was going to be a good night. parking was ridiculous with blood thirsty drivers - one empty parking spot, you'll see two cars out to claim it.

however having arrived at the venue, things got better. there were lots of lovely stylish people, chatting away and being friendly. socialites and local celebrities mingled. the designers for vabene came down from italy and were there on hand to talk about their designs and gave a brief history about these watches. i quite like their pirati collection (a skull and cutlasses on its face). it was a nice launch, small-ish but it had a relaxed and fun ambiance. the music was pretty good too. after my 3rd glass of wine, i was all set to boogie.

i didn't bring my camera as it was already packed in with all my other electronic thingamabobs. so i had to make do with my camera phone (although i did snap a few shots using my sister's camera, i didn't have time to take it off her. will update this entry with her pictures after i get back from hk.

enjoy the pics!

being passive

hiya luvs,

we had a three day weekend and i mostly stayed at home. i recently subscribed to the local traffic updates via twitter and it has rendered me motionless. spews of traffic jam updates, all around me. not caring to be caught in the terrible slow moving crawl, i chose to laze and not venture far.

this has also been my modus operandi in life. being passive and not making the first move, taking the plunge, grabbing the bull by its horns etc... etc... having over thought of something too much that i opt out. too many times i have amitte occasionem that i feel the burden of regret and anguish.

however, i'm blessed with positive people around me and i'm thankful for that. they have more belief in me than i do in myself. it's about time i did and carpe diem.
